In 1966 my parents packed up my younger brother and I and we set out for Alaska to escape the rat race of Southern California. We moved to the small town of Homer, population 1000. It was a wonderful place to grow up.
Living in the “Last Frontier” influenced much of my wildlife artwork. Along with wildlife, I also paint and sketch portraits, still life, science fiction, fantasy, caricatures, and cartoons. I work in oils, acrylics, watercolors, colored pencil, graphite pencil and ink.
Many of my wildlife art pieces were sold in Alaskan galleries and thanks to the Internet now my fantasy and science fiction artwork has by far outsold anything else I paint. Sci-Fi and Fantasy are my favorite subjects, but I also enjoy painting caricatures of my friends and family.
I met my future wife in 1983 while working at Alaska Airlines and we finally got married in 1987. During the spring of 1996 we decided it was time to move some place where it didn’t snow 9 months of the year, so we headed south to Tacoma, Washington. I still work full time at Alaska Airlines but I always find time to paint and draw.
