Profile
I’ve painted most of my life, beginning in 1981. My inspiration in the arts began as early as 6 years old, when the beauty of nature and colors inspired me, but I was never satisfied with the process or the results. Then I discovered the fabrics, threads and trims. But still I wanted to explore in different materials like wood-dust, metal, sugar, wax and so many other things. This helped me to open my mind about painting. I didn’t follow the rule of painting, but simply created. My true passion is making felt and mixing it with other material to create colors. The textures and the way the fibers respond to my touch give the painting a unique three-dimensionality that combines a feel of antiquity with freshness. I carve in the old style to keep the ways of our ancestors carving style (Hand-carving). I engrave the sculptures with Native American and African symbols to capture the feel of the early ages of ancestors’ decoration, which has meaning. I am related to my sculptures, paintings and sometime my fashion designing: we are one-of-a kind masterpieces.
