I am a designer-maker living and working in Cornwall, United Kingdom. Although I am first and foremost a painter, I now express myself using 3 different media, contemporary jewellery, textile paintings and sculptured lighting.
The inspiration behind my current collection of paintings is the transition from girlhood to womanhood; a moment where innocence is held in suspension, ready to blossom, which is why there is a strong floral theme within some of the pieces. This theme has allowed me to include my passion for vibrant colours, natural sculptural forms and the textured surface.
Each painting begins with a black and white photograph, which is printed out to the desired size. I then paint, draw and layer onto the image, finally photographing it again and printing it out onto fabric. I work with different fabrics, currently using canvas, cotton, and velvet.
I sell and exhibit around the UK and the USA. Recent exhibitions include -
