Profile
Primarily self-taught, much of Gail Daley’s art instruction came from her mother and aunt, both of whom were artists. She also credits lessons on Public Television for helping hone her artistic style and perfect her technique. Proudly calling herself an “Americana” artist, Gail concentrates on the interconnected relationship between man and nature, and the strong bond between humans and animals. Simple images of everyday life, historical, western, and hunting themes dominate her canvases. In Addition, she has a prolific body of Fantasy and Science Fiction art. She has won awards for her animal portraits and historical scenes. Her mural design for one of the local freeways has been accepted, and is due to be installed in 2008. Gail also accepts commissions for a variety of different types of paintings. Having experimented with every medium, Gail prefers to work in Acrylics for its versatility and fast drying properties. She also recently began working with a combination of marker pen and crayon. Gail resides in Clovis, California, with her husband, son and an assortment of dogs and cats. Gail maintains affiliations with three local art associations, and with fellow artist Lea Adams, has started a non-profit organization (Artique) which is designed to find or create low-to-no-cost venues for local artists to sell their work. Gail has recently been named to the newly formed Mayors Heritage art trail committee whose aim is to promote public art that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Clovis. Gail is also a charter member of the Clovis Chamber of Commerce Art Council.
