Attilio Geva
I was born in Italy in the 1948, ex-officer of the mercantile marine, ex-manager in the field of informatics, from 2001 I’m devoted only to artistic activities.
I live and work in Rome.
My art is directed towards the sight sense, without any limitation in terms of kind and form. I use freely figurative painting, abstract or informal, the installation and the performance, refusing any clichè.
Presently, my artistic thoughts circle around a limited series of themes that are the same as my conception of life, my emotional sphere following the native inborn thoughts and life’s evolution:
• Darwinism, Evolution, Nature
• Faith and Fundamentalism
• Egocentrism and Cooperation
• Neurosis, individual and social
• Music and Painting, relations between them
• Unification of Arts
Man IS an animal and should be proud to be. Man became conscious only by effect of natural evolution, he does not have any “special” and “universal” meaning as he would hope. One is born, lives and dies without any specific goal, without any noble destiny or without any finality.
A sense for existence must be produced and is needed by the human species as a compliment to the consciousness with regards to his own conservation.
Man secretes sense like a snail secretes slime.
Every faith is a superficial answer to existential worrying problems.
Art is a deep approach to produce and give sense to life and death, without any kind of “addiction”.
