The Artwork:
A Red Fox snaps at a Mallard as it suddenly flies up from a stream he has approached. The stream is not shown. A startled leapard frog jumps into the water.
A detailed and realistic scene carved from a solid piece of Eastern Maple. The hardwood was necessary to lend strength to the slender legs of the Red Fox. This proved to be an intricate work requiring considerable time to remove the wood from between the legs and behind the fox. The Mallard is supported by the stream side bushes.
The Collection:
Original carvings of wildlife in wood, stone and marble. A one-off work. No reproductions will be made of this scene.
