This is the Third PORTAL... "The Last Perfect Day of Mid-Summer, the Motherland, Lemuria, The Day the Mountains were Raised"
THE CRYSTAL CAVE STABILE: "a grand objet d' art" Original Oil Masterwork
The Crystal Cave Stabile is a quite large free standing original oil painting with three sides... Hand made & painted between 1984 and 1996 by Loren D. Adams, Jr.
hand made over a period of 16 years, this 7 foot tall 10 foot wide & 6 ft deep sculptural object
is made from ( 7 ) carved wooden panels prepared with rabbit skin glue, 12 coats of gesso and
12 coats of outdoor ( red ) latex enamel and gold sizing as a foundation for the 22 k- german
gold leaf & gilding. The premium Windsor Newton finest & select list oil pigments as well as
Talen's Rembrandt finest oil pigments were painted over the top of the gold, except where the
Gold is supposed to show. The reason the oil pigments were painted over the gold is to extend
the value range in the colours and contrast. This gives an unmistakable effect of three different
types of visual colours: Reflected colour, Refracted colour and Transmitted colour.

There are three different paintings, one on each of the portals... in other words one image on
each of the three sides of the stabile. Each scene is a portal or view into a different world, each
representing a different aspect of man's environment. The First side is the Warm side and is a
sunset over the ocean with tall cliffs representing the "Natural World" The Second side is a view
from inside a cave and is very mysterious representing the "Spiritual World" The third side is a
view of the last perfect day of mid-summer at high noon with the buildings of the Cultural & Trade
Center from ancient Lemuria representing the "Cultural World" The Theme of the Masterwork is
"The Journey to the City of God" or "Citadel Divina"

Each of the three sides of the Stabile is inspired by a different book by three different authors.

The first side, Natural World, The Sunset View is inspired by the proposition in the prologue
from "Thus Spake Zarathustra" by Frederic Neitchze; "Oh Great Star, What would your happiness
be if you had not those for whom you shine?"

The second side, Spiritual World, Inside the Magic Cave is inspired by Mary Stewart's Book titled:
"The Crystal Cave" the story of the childhood of Merlin, the magician of King Arthur's Court, and his
studies inside the cave with spiritual things... from which the Stabile gets it's title; "The Crystal Cave".
The title of this side of the stabile is "The Falcon & The Ring-neck Dove"

The third side, Cultural World, depicts the last perfect day of mid-summer the Motherland Lemuria,
"The Day the Mountains were Raised" portraying the great earthquake and cataclysm that was the
end of the first great civilization of Mu 12,000 years ago. Inspired by the Lost Continent of Mu, The
Children of Mu and the three other volumes by Col. James E. Churchward published in the 1930's.

The "Crystal Cave Stabile" has many other fascinating features including many crystals mounted
in specific places; these include Herkimer diamonds in there own natural matrix, small diamonds
used as highlights to give the waves a real sparkle and many small round opals used as accents
on the splashing water. Special effects include lazer lights with lenses and mirrors. The Stabile
has it's own 11 ft. in diameter Rosewood turning carousel which is motorised to make a complete
revolution every 60 seconds. The whole project weighs approximately 1,500 pounds & requires
a crew of 6 strong people to assemble it for exhibitions.
